The 38th edition of the Golden Disc Awards (GDA) has recently revealed an important update regarding its upcoming ceremony. Set for January 6, 2024, this prestigious event is moving to the Jakarta International Stadium in Indonesia. The Golden Disc Awards committee expressed that the growing global influence of K-pop and the ongoing requests from Asian fans to meet K-pop artists were instrumental in their decision. They aim to foster connections between a more diverse audience of domestic and international music enthusiasts through K-pop.
The Golden Disc Awards committee reportedly said, “The influence of K-pop is gradually expanding in the global music market, and requests from Asian fans who want to meet K-pop artists are continuing. In keeping with this trend, we decided to host the event in Jakarta to create opportunities for more diverse domestic and foreign music fans to be able to communicate through K-pop.”
The Jakarta International Stadium is a remarkable venue, capable of accommodating around 80,000 attendees. Notably, this stadium will also be hosting the U-17 World Cup, beginning on November 10.

The highly anticipated nominees for each category of the 38th GDA are scheduled for the official announcement on December 4, reports Soompi.

This happened for the sixth consecutive year, solidifying their status as a dominant force in the K-pop realm. Additionally, IVE emerged triumphant, claiming the Digital Song of the Year Daesang and the Rookie Artist of the Year Award, a distinction shared with LE SSERAFIM and NewJeans.
The Artist of the Year accolade was presented to the ever-entertaining PSY, while SEVENTEEN received recognition with the Best Performance award. The title of Best Group was awarded to TREASURE, and fan-favourite (G)I-DLE and Stray Kids were hailed as the Most Popular Artists of the Year, concluding a remarkable celebration of K-pop excellence at the 37th Golden Disc Awards.
The Golden Disc Awards is presented annually to recognise the outstanding achievements of the K-POP industry. It was first established in 1986 and has continued to significantly contribute to the growth of the Korean music industry by fostering a creative environment and encouraging new talents. “Golden Disc Awards has been recognised as ‘The Most Favored Award by Artists’ through its fairness and objectivity since its first ceremony,” reads the website.
