Reports of KGF star Yash making a special appearance in Prabhas’ upcoming movie Salaar Part 1: Ceasefire have been making headlines for a long time now. However, the makers of the much-awaited film have now finally revealed that all such claims are false.
Yash Does Not Have a Cameo In Salaar
In a recent interview, producer Vijay Kiragandur revealed that Yash does not have a cameo in Salaar and clarified that there is no link between his movie and the KGF. “I think [director] Prashanth has clarified already that there is no link [between KGF and Salaar]. There’s no cameo in the movie. So that is not true,” Vijay told India Today.
How Did The Rumours of Yash’s Special Appearance In Salaar Surface?
The rumours of Yash’s special appearance in Salaar first made headlines after child singer Theertha Subhash accidentally referred to the KGF actor’s presence in the Prashanth Neel directorial. However, she later clarified, “I have seen the ‘KGF’ movie many times. When the opportunity arose, my father had said that ‘Salaar’s’ music and it was with the ‘KGF’ team. So, I had in my mind that Yash uncle will also be in ‘Salaar’. It was in that assumption, that I said his name (sic).”
What Do We Know About Salaar?
Hombale Films’ Salaar: Part 1: Ceasefire stars Prabhas along with Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruti Haasan, and Jagapathi Babu in key roles. Made under the direction of Prashanth Neel, the film is produced by Vijay Kiragandur. Salaar has a duration of 2 hours and 55 minutes and was given an ‘A’ certificate by the censor board. The movie has several bloody combat scenes, violence, and battle scenes.
Recently, director Prashanth Neel also revealed that his film is an emotional story of two friends. “Salaar Part One is a completely different world; the action in the film is massive and there are strong characters, but above all, it has an emotional story—the story of two friends and their journey into the world of the Khansaar. I wanted to make an action-packed drama film with a story driven by emotions and friendship, and Salaar has given me that opportunity,” he said in a recent interview.
Salaar will be released in theatres on December 22, 2023.
