Viral video shows Mumbai eatery's 'special' 'Maggi Biryani' that failed to impress foodies. Watch it here.

Maggi noodles aren’t just a snack; they’re an emotion for every Desi foodie, especially hostelites whose days and nights revolve around this instant delight. It’s not just the convenience that makes it an unbeatable evening nashta; it’s the taste that’s simply irresistible and can be whipped up in minutes (well, maybe not two). While foodies often elevate it with their own blend of spices, veggies, and occasionally cheese, the internet has recently witnessed a surge in unconventional recipes featuring everyone’s favourite ‘Maggi.’ One such recent example is ‘Maggi Biryani,’ which has sparked mixed reactions online.

A video shared by the Mumbai eatery, Messy Addaa, showcased their version of ‘Maggi Biryani,’ served in an earthen pot and then gracefully poured onto a plate. It boasted all the spices, veggies, and elements of a classic rice biryani, except for one crucial ingredient—rice! Instead, it featured Maggi noodles, giving it the spicy, aromatic essence of Biryani, complete with paneer, caramelised onions, and assorted veggies.

As expected, the video sparked mixed reactions. While some were intrigued and eager to try this fusion dish, many criticised the concept of merging two distinct dishes, calling it a culinary ‘disaster.’

Comments flooded in, with one person expressing, “You have no idea how many cultures from Kolkata, Hyderabad and Lucknow you’ve offended.” Another commented, “Please stop wasting biriyani like this,” while a third chimed in, “Both Biryani lovers and Maggi lovers got offended.”

Meanwhile, the culinary world witnessed another eyebrow-raising experiment: ‘Coffee Maggi.’ In this viral video, a vendor is seen boiling milk before adding Maggi noodles, chopped vegetables, Maggi masala, and an unexpected twist—coffee powder. As if that weren’t unconventional enough, a sprinkle of turmeric adds further intrigue. The resulting concoction is then served to bewildered customers, prompting social media users to wonder when this trend of culinary oddities will reach its zenith!
