The Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial which released on December 1 has entered the ₹800 crore club in style. Despite the accusations levelled against certain themes of the film, moviegoers have certainly given their seal of approval to Animal since the makers announced the film has crossed ₹800 crore gross worldwide. According to trade tracker sacnilk.com, Animal minted Rs 4.56 Cr India net on its seventeenth day for all languages. Animal has now become the highest grossing Indian film in Canada and Australia by surpassing the numbers of Pathaan, as per @Southwoodoffl and film trade analyst @HetTanna56.

Earlier, a video of Ranbir Kapoor with three of his ‘Animal’ cousins had surfaced online in which they were seen enjoying in a car. While Ranbir was seen driving the car, others happily recorded the video.

Released on December 1, Animal revolves around a man and his toxic relationship with his father. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the film shows Vijay (played by Ranbir) as an anti-hero who would go to any lengths to protect his father (played by Anil Kapoor). However, despite his efforts, he struggles to get a seal of approval from his emotionally unavailable father. His unhealthy relationship with his father also impacts his bond with his wife, essayed by Rashmika Mandanna.

Several celebrities including Ram Gopal Varma, Karan Johar, Riddhima Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal and Allu Arjun among others have also praised Animal. The film has also been accused of glorifying misogyny and toxic masculinity by several social media users.

Meanwhile, Ranbir Kapoor will be next seen in Nitish Tiwari’s Ramayana. While he will be playing the role of Ram in this upcoming movie, Sai Pallavi has been roped in for the role of Sita. KGF star Yash is likely to play Ravana in the movie, whereas Sunny Deol is in talks for the role of Hanuman. Ramayana will go on floors next year.
