Adnan Khan and Mallika Singh starrer historical drama Pracchand Ashok has garnered positive response from audiences. The show is set in the ancient kingdoms of Magadh and Kalinga. While the gripping storyline has kept viewers glued to their screens, the performances of Adnan and Mallika, as Samrat Ashok and Princess Kaurwaki, respectively, have received admiration for their chemistry. Inspired by the real life bravery of the emperor of the Maurya Empire, Adnan fearlessly performs high octane action sequences for the show. Recently, the actor confronted his fear of heights by showcasing his dedication, as he shot an intense and daring scene without any trouble.

Showing his courage, just like Samrat Ashok fearlessly fought enemies on the battlefield, the Ishq Subhan Allah star came face to face with his fear during a fight sequence which was shot on top of a 30 foot tall bell tower. Despite the fear, Adnan took the challenge after he received encouragement from his action choreographer and the team members.

Talking about overcoming his acrophobia, Adnan Khan told IANS, “At first, I could barely stand on the towering bell, it was nerve wracking, as I have height phobia. But with all necessary precautions and my crew’s assistance, I could tackle this fear head-on. For an actor, every day is a new learning process, especially when one is embodying such a powerful character like Samrat Ashok.”

The plot primarily focuses on the love story between Samrat Ashok and Princess Kaurwaki, two legendary figures with contrasting personalities. Kaurwaki imagines a life partner with a kind hearted person and values family. On the other hand, Ashok is a conqueror unafraid of shedding blood for power. Despite his ruthless nature, he has a desire to establish a legacy, earning respect for his mother and securing a place in his father’s heart.

Earlier, Ekta Kapoor sharing positive words about the show wrote, “Powerful kings have conquered lands and enemies but only one great one knew real power is to conquer the enemy within. This is the story of a powerful king who realised power is in the win of war but greatness is in the win of peace. He was and will always be the pride of INDIA. His emblems are our sign of courage. This is the story of Ashoka the powerful king who became Ashoka the great.”
