One such name is Divyanka Tripathi Dahiya, who never dreamed of appearing on screen and instead, wanted to become an army officer to serve the nation. She is among the highest-paid actresses in the industry. Although her luck pulled her into the world of acting, the actress proved herself in showbiz with her hard work and dedication. She is one of the few actresses who got the chance to share the screen with Amitabh Bachchan in a detergent ad film.
Divyanka Tripathi was born on December 14, 1984, in Bhopal. She is from a non-cinema background and originally wanted to become an army officer. She was also an NCC cadet in her school. She did a mountaineering course at the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering, Uttarakhand and achieved a gold medal in rifle shooting as well. She also appeared in the popular reality show Khatron Ke Khiladi.
Divyanka Tripathi of Baanu Mai Teri Dulhan fame won the Miss Bhopal title in 2003, which proved to be the turning point of her career. Then in 2004, she won the talent hunt show The Zee Cine Stars Ki Khoj. The actress started her career with a Doordarshan serial. But she got her real fame from the TV serials Banu Main Teri Dulhan and Yeh Hai Mohabbatein. She is also the winner of Nach Baliye 8 in 2017.
She also received recognition for her performance with awards including the Indian Television Academy Award for Best Actress in Drama and the Most Entertaining Actress in Lead Role. She made her debut on the digital platform with the Coldd Lassi Aur Chicken Masala.
In an interview, Divyanka said that she never wanted to become an actress. Earlier in 2020, the actress shared some pictures of her wearing an NCC uniform in school. In the caption, she wrote, “Flaunting uneven suntan and showing off muscles…those were the norms of beauty and achievements for us NCC cadets then!”
