The first-look poster for the film Poyyamozhi, directed by Sudhi Anna, featuring Jaffer Idukki, debutant Nathaniel and Meenakshi as leads has been unveiled. The film, produced by Josukutty Math, under Tiny Hands Productions, achieved a milestone even before its release.
The premiere of Poyyamozhi will take place at the Film Market of the Cannes Film Festival, an event attended by film companies and delegates from various countries. The film’s premiere is scheduled for May 19 at 8 PM at the Palais H Theatre. The screenplay and dialogues of the movie have been written by Sarath Chandran, with cinematography by Vinod Illampilly. The soundtrack was composed by Bijibal, with lyrics by MR Renukumar. The shooting of Poyyamozhi was filmed across various places in India like Kodaikanal, Vagamon and Thodupuzha.
Director Sudhi Anna is an Indian film director and painter, primarily working in Malayalam cinema. He is known for Hallelooya, a film starring Naren and Meghana Raj in the lead roles. He was awarded the JC Foundation Award for Young Directors.
His debut film was Song of Solomon in 2012, starring Sam Jeevan and Divya Das in the lead roles. Mohanlal did the dubbing for the film. He wrote the story and screenplay for the film, while Ragesh Narayanan did the cinematography and editing. His next project was Khadolkhachan, a bilingual film in Malayalam and Tamil, starring Vidharth and Shine Tom Chacko in the lead roles, but the film did not materialise. He then directed Hallelooya, a love story starring Narain and Meghana Raj. The film was released in May 2016 and marked a comeback for Narain. The screenplay was written by Abhimaan and Suniraj, who were also involved in another film starring Nivin Pauly, Neram. The film, which included a poem by Indian police officer B Sandhya earned him the JC Foundation Award for Young Director.
Anna, who has also held several exhibitions of his photographs, drawings and paintings, lives with his wife and daughter in his house on the banks of the Vembuzha River in Kannur.
