Ranbir Kapoor got married to Alia Bhatt in an intimate ceremony in 2022. He recently recalled an anecdote from his wedding and revealed how much he paid Alia’s girl gang to retrieve his shoes during the ‘joota churai’ ceremony. Ranbir revealed this on The Great Indian Kapil Show, which premiered on Netflix on Saturday, March 31.
Kapil Sharma asked Ranbir if it was true that he paid a few crores to Alia’s sisters. He replied, “No. That’s not true.” His mother, Neetu, added, “We did give them some cash.” Ranbir said that they demanded a sum in lakhs but he brought them down to “to a few thousands”. When Archana Puran Singh said that the amount was too low, Rambir justified it by saying that they had a small ceremony at home.
Ranbir Kapoor appeared on the show with his mother Neetu Kapoor and sister Riddhima Kapoor Sahni. Speaking about the values Rishi Kapoor instilled in her kids, Neetu Singh said, “Both my children are very cool. Riddhima is also very calm. They have never spoken loudly to anyone. My children have very good values, which Rishi Ji gave them. Value of time. Respecting people and respecting money. He was very strict, and my children would watch and learn. I think these same values will be inculcated in Raha as well.” Neetu further added, “When these two used to study, Rishi Ji would always give them pocket money. If they had to buy anything extra, there was no need to ask for it. I would simply give it to them.”
Meanwhile, on the work front, Ranbir Kapoor was last seen in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal. The film became a huge commercial success. He now has Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana in the pipeline opposite Sai Pallavi. Ranbir has also signed Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love and War alongside Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal.
