New Delhi: Producer-director N Padmakumar's debut film A Billion Colour Story has been selected at the upcoming 60th edition of BFI London Film Festival and the Busan International Film Festival. The 115-minute film, a contemporary narrative of a father-son relationship, has been co-produced by veteran actor-director Satish Kaushik. It will make its premiere at the Busan.

Talking about the film, Padmakumar said, "We live in such a polarised world with partisan views but somewhere I believe that all is not lost. There is hope, positivity and above all inherent goodness in human beings which needs to be told through art and cinema. A Billion Colour Story is one such effort, uplifting and human, which I believe is imperative in today's time."

Actors Gaurav Sharma, Vasuki Sunkavalli and Dhruva Padmakumar play the lead characters in the film, which is most shot in English and Hindi. Kaushik, who has left his mark in international cinema

with his heartwarming performances in "Brick Lane" and "Road, Movie", had described the film as a "rare gem" in cinema.

"'A Billion Colour Story' is a rare gem and this kind of cinema comes to you rarely so you can't let go of such an opportunity," he said. "While I'm really excited about the festivals, I was very sure this film will leave an impression. In my 30-year-long career, this is one of those films which I will be proud to have been associated with," Kaushik, who was last seen in "Udta Punjab", said.
