Trailer of Arjun Kapoor, Anil Kapoor starrer Mubarakan is finally here and it gives a glimpse of a crazy family planning a wedding amidst lots of confusion. The team of Mubarakan had been sharing character posters for quite some time, building up to the final trailer and while the makers boost of a family-comedy, the trailer fails to establish a definitive plot.
Karan and Charan are identical twins who through a twist of fate end up becoming cousins. One brought up in Chandigarh and the other in London, they are as different as brothers can be. The plot takes a turn when their families start searching for a bride for them, unknown to the fact that they already have girlfriends. Then their genius uncle, Kartar, enters the scene trying to get them out of this mess and in fact, lands them in more confusion.
This is the first time real life nephew-uncle Arjun and Anil will be seen sharing the screen and from the trailer, one can gauge the easy camaraderie both actors share with each other.
Athiya Shetty and Ileana D'Cruz are the two female leads in the film, but like most comedies, are restrained to few smiles, gorgeous dresses, and swirling skirts.
Ratna Pathak Shah is also seen in a key role but isn't noteworthy enough in the trailer.
Overall, the makers do promise to send audience in a laughter riot but the trailer is less than impressive, if not completely confusing. Hope the film clears the confusion when it releases on July 28. Director Anees Bazmee has made senseless comedies look interesting before with Singh Is King and Welcome, let's see if Mubarakan joins the league.
