Malayalam superstar Mohanlal took to his social media handle on Wednesday to share some pictures of him receiving the first coronavirus vaccine shot. Taking to Instagram, the 60-year-old actor wrote that he took the first shot of Covid vaccine.
He also took the opportunity to express his gratitude to the health workers, pharmaceutical industries working on making the vaccine, and the government of India and Kerala’s state government. Mohanlal mentioned the chief minister of Kerala Pinarayi Vijayan and state health minister Shailaja Teacher and prime minister Narender Modi along with union health minister Dr Harsh Vardhan in his post. He also mentioned the Indian Council of Medical Research as he expressed his gratitude.
On the work front, Mohanlal was recently spotted filming the remaining portions of his upcoming film Aarattu. In the pictures from the sets the superstar is seen decked up in a maroon shirt and white dhoti as he prepares for his shot. Mohanlal was last seen in thriller-drama Drishyam 2 which is a sequel to the 2013 Malayalam movie Drishyam.
With his first shot of Coronavirus vaccine, Mohanlal has joined the likes of Saif Ali Khan, Kamal Haasan, Satish Shah, Hema Malini, Anupam Kher, and Johnny Lever who have received their first jab.
Fans are now waiting to see Mohanlal in his upcoming movie Aarattu and Marakkar: The Lion of the Arabian Sea. In Marakkar, he plays Kunjali Marakkar IV, who earned his reputation with his fierce attack on Portuguese ships, the favours and help he extended to those who fought against the Portuguese and his efforts to strengthen the fort at Kottakkal. Marakkar’s total budget is reported to be Rs 100 crore which makes it the most expensive Malayalam film ever made.
The war movie which is set in the 16th century also stars Suniel Shetty and is slated to release on May 13, 2021.
