Munawar Faruqui has been in the news after lifting the coveted Bigg Boss 17 trophy. The stand-up comedian who enjoys a large fan base recently took to his Instagram handle to interact with his fans and to express his gratitude for supporting him on his Bigg Boss Journey. While many people joined, Munawar couldn’t break the record of Elvish Yadav’s live stream from last year, that had clocked 5,95,000 viewers and was ranked 10th in the list of most viewed Live sessions worldwide. During Munawar’s livestream, Elvish Yadav seemingly took an indirect dig at Munawar Faruqui.
On Saturday, Elvish Yadav took to his Instagram stories and dropped a selfie of him, looking straight into the camera with a smug face. Hinting at the Bigg Boss 17 winner’s live stream, Elvish wrote, “Koi live aaya hai kya(with a skull emoji).”

Elvish not only made history by becoming the first wildcard contestant to win Bigg Boss across the Indian franchise, he also received a record-breaking number of votes in only 15 minutes when the voting lines were reopened. He was told by the makers that he received a whopping 280 million votes. His livestream record was previously held by Bigg Boss 16 winner MC Stan, whose Live session was viewed by over 5 lakh people.
Meanwhile, Bigg Boss winner Munwar Faruqui is basking in glory after his huge victory. While the stand-up artist continues to celebrate his victory, many people felt that Munawar was undeserving. Talking exclusively to News18, Munawar said, “Bigg Boss house was like a war and I actually fought it and emerged victorious. I am not convinced when people say that I was not deserving. But my fans and the audience always stood by me and I came to know that a lot of people have started following me on social media. It is all organic and not paid so I must have done something correct. I believe I am deserving to be the winner of this show.”
