November 14 holds a very special significance in every kid's life. Be it the super sweet behaviour of teachers at school, special activities being organised everywhere or free candies! And when it comes to movies, 2015 has been a years of amazing content driven films in Bollywood and magnum opus in Hollywood.

As the entire nation celebrates the day of innocence and mischief, we take a look at the movies that proved to be treat for children this year, courtesy Bollywood and Hollywood.

Bajrangi Bhaijaan

The one and only entrant from Bollywood, this Salman Khan-starrer revolved around an adorable little girl and was full of emotions, child-like humour and life lessons. While the entire country currently burns with issues of communal differences and cross border terrorism, this simplistic vision of Kabir Khan was a breath of a fresh air. The film conveyed the message of love and innocence perfectly and yes, Salman Khan became the actor of the year in every child's scrapbook!

In other note, being the only child-friendly film of this year shows the sad state of affair. While directors like Anurag Kashyap are busy making films that are both realistic and rooted, we need filmmakers to focus on a large section of movie goers who are below 14. Children's movie doesn't always need to be a fairy tale but a simple, clean film with a message that young minds carry with them outside the theater.

Minions

The yellow, chirpy little bundles of Joy, came beaming on screen and won the hearts of the little ones with their antics. This prequel of 'Despicable Me' showed the journey of the minions who are in desperate need to find and serve world's greatest villains and how they end up with Gru. Kevin, Stuart and Bob became everybody's best friend. The hilarious adventure made even the most serious ones to keep that straight face away for two hours. The message in the end? Try and try until you succeed.

Inside Out

This Disney pixer movie beautifully depicted the human emotions as live characters inside Riley's head. How emotions dominate our moods and what part memories play in developing our characteristics was shown in his adorable story. It covered the growing up of a child and development of changed emotions when happiness leaves the work station (brain). Children loved the film all around the globe and learnt that hope and happiness can help you overcome any hurdles in life.

Hotel Transylvania 2

The recently released sequel of 'Hotel Transylvania' followed the life of Mavis' half human half vampire child Dennis. Dracula tries everything to evoke the vampire side of the child in order to keep Mavis with him, but the child seem to have no vampire characteristic. This tale of monsters is all about family, new beginnings, accepting and learning to fight for your loved ones. With hilarious punch lines, excellent dubbing and amazing graphics, this one keeps the inquisitive minds of children engage and make them leave the theater with some life lessons as well. This one brings the child in you alive.

Shaun The Sheep The Movie

Nick Junior's favourite cartoon show 'Shaun The Sheep' hit the screens as a full fledged movie this year. Shaun brings his big adventure on big screen along with his friends. In order to find his owner, Shaun goes to the city and finds new dangers and thrills. This adorable gang of sheep and their bravery win your heart. This 2015 release motivates children to explore the world and face all their challenges with courage and ofcourse, humour!

Cinderella

The live action fantasy 'Cinderella' was another recreation of the classic fairytale. Apart from awe-inspiring costumes and graphics, the film promoted the message of kindness in the best way possible. The Cinderella in this recreated version was stronger, more courageous, humble and kind. This film, irrespective of gender, reached out to millions. In the intolerant world of today, kindness and forgiveness are the key virtues to be inculcated in the young minds and this fantasy fairytale does it well.

Goosebumps

This RL Stine book series' transformation into a film was scary and funny at the same time. His books marked the initial reading years of every teenager, so this movies becomes a favourite just by the fact that it's based on the works we all read as kids. A perfect watch for young teenagers, the movie has all the elements of RL Stine's work and of course funny antics of the monsters (and Jack Balck) make it worth watching. Make the children around you face their fears and overcome them with this contemporary literary work turned film.

We hope to find more child friendly films from Hindi film industry next year with some fantastic Disney lineup. Wishing every 'architect of the future' a very Happy Children's Day.
