Boney Kapoor got emotional when the subject of Sridevi’s death was brought up during a recent interaction. The producer sat down with several media publications to talk about his in upcoming film, Ajay Devgn-headlined Maidaan. During one of the interactions, the topic of Sridevi’s death came up and Boney refused to speak about it while he fought back tears. The producer urged the interviewer to move on to the next subject because he didn’t want to talk about her passing.
“Let’s not talk about it,” Boney said, in an interview with Zoom TV. “Till today, I miss her, every second, every day, every minute. It’s not something which (leaves my mind),” he said, fighting back his tears.
For the unversed, Sridevi passed away in February 2018. She was attending Boney Kapoor’s nephew, Arjun Marwah’s wedding in Dubai. Following the ceremony, she died of accidental drowning. Her mortal remains were brought back to Mumbai and she was cremated here. Thousands of fans gathered to pay their last respects to her and Arjun Kapoor along with his sister Anshula Kapoor were by their half-siblings’ Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor’s side when the funeral took place.
In the same interview, Boney added that Sridevi was different much more religious than him when they met. “Sridevi was more religious than I was. I started believing more in it because of her,” he said. “Sridevi did unusual roles and unusual things. She lit the fire on the pyre when her mother passed away,” he added.
Sridevi and Boney Kapoor’s wedding was the talk of the town. Boney, who was already married to Mona Kapoor and had two children with her, fell in love with Sridevi and eventually married her. Their marriage became tabloid headlines instantly. It was after Sridevi’s death that Boney and Arjun mended their relationship and now share a close bond.
