Asha Bhosle's Wax Figure To Be Featured At Madame Tussauds Delhi
The figure will be displayed in the Bollywood music zone alongside other leading singers in an interactive themed environment. The legendary singer's figure will transport visitors to the beloved golden era of Indian cinema.

From Chura Liya Hai Tumne, Dum Maaro Dum, Aaiye Meherbaan to Hungama Ho Gaya and Piya Tu Ab Toh Aaja, we have all loved legendary singer Asha Bhosle's mesmerising voice. There is no denying the fact that Asha has been one of the most versatile singers in the past several decades and that whether it was a cabaret number or a romantic song, the legendary singing sensation has not just sung them all, but has turned the tracks into evergreen numbers that still ring in the ears of many.

Her soulful voice that has a certain vivacity and charm to it, has amazed one and all time and again. Which is one reason why there hasn't been anyone like her in years. And so, for all her contributions to the singing industry and for giving us some of the best songs in the history of Indian cinema, the famous Madame Tussauds is all set to honour her by installing her wax statue at their upcoming entertainment hotspot in New Delhi.

The figure will be displayed in the Bollywood music zone alongside other leading singers in an interactive themed environment. The zone will enable fans to sing and perform with their favourite stars – an experience only Madame Tussauds can offer. The legendary singer's figure will transport visitors to the beloved golden era of Indian cinema.

As one of Bollywood's iconic artists, she has recorded in over a thousand Bollywood movies; in more than 20 Indian and foreign languages. Asha has also been awarded the prestigious honour by the Guinness Book of World Records as the most recorded artist in music history. In addition, she was also honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2000, and the Padma Vibhushan in 2008.

The team of experts from Madame Tussauds met with Asha Bhosle last year for the sitting session in Mumbai where over 150 specific measurements and images were taken.

According to a Press Release by Madame Tussauds, on learning about her wax figure, Asha Bhosle excitedly remarked, "I am thrilled and humbled. Thank you to Madame Tussauds and my fans for considering me for this incredible honour. Having a wax figure is a completely ecstatic feeling and it's a new experience for me. This is the first time I have undergone a sitting and I must thank them for making it a unique and exciting experience. I am excited to see and meet my final figure when the attraction opens. Madame Tussauds is a 'one-of-a-kind' attraction and is a rage across the world and I am looking forward to the launch and opening in Delhi."
