Produced officially by Iconoclast TV, FRI(END)S music video is an emotional and twisted depiction of loneliness and unfulfilled longing, set against the backdrop of his unique musical style.

BTS member Kim Taehyung, better known as V, has recently released his much-anticipated digital single titled FRI(END)S while on hiatus to fulfil his mandatory military service. Despite his temporary absence from the spotlight, the singer-dancer has left no stone unturned in entertaining the ARMY. With the launch of the full official music video for FRI(END)S today, on March 15, he has grabbed all the headlines, much to the delight of his fans.

Known for his unique style and concepts, V’s music video for FRI(END)S showcases his distinct narrative. The music video begins with him waking up in a solitary house, going about his daily routine which includes brushing, eating some takeaway food, and eventually venturing out.

As he boards a red bus, he finds himself surrounded by couples, highlighting his sense of loneliness amidst a sea of love. This theme continues as he sits in a restaurant filled with couples, further emphasising his solitude.

The video takes a more sombre turn as V is depicted in a diner, surrounded by couples, yet appearing as the only person without a partner. Clad in shades of black, he gazes into the distance, hinting at a story of unrequited love and loneliness. Eventually, he comes out of the diner only to meet with a fate that fans have to see to believe.

V’s portrayal is reflective of the lyrics, “You’re in my head, I had plans for the weekend, But wound up with you instead" which convey a sense of longing and missed opportunities for companionship.

The music video also features British actor Ruby Sear, who portrays V’s love interest in the latter part of the video.
