New Delhi: Indian Mujahideen co-founder Muhammad Ahmad Zarar Siddibapa alias Yasin Bhatkal's interrogation reveals that the terror group has split, sources say.
Bhatkal has reportedly revealed that Tehsin Akhtar alias Monu has replaced him as the India commander of the group. Sources also say a second module is also in action and its leader is Mirza Shadab Beig.
Indian security and intelligence agencies were suspicious that a north-south module division existed in the Indian Mujahideen. Now Yasin's interrogation has established the fact.
Beig is a resident of Azamagarh and is is wanted in the 2007 Gorakhpur serial blasts. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh on him.
Bhatkal was arrested in a joint operation involving the Intelligence Bureau, Research and Analysis Wing and Bihar Police. He was arrested along with his close aide Asadullah Akhtar alias Haddi.
