The Prince of the Saudi Arabian royal family has levelled plagiarism charges against the composer of the song.

New Delhi:This was one foot-tapping number that had been topping Hindi music charts for a couple of months.

But the soulful, Sufiana song Ya Ali from Anurag Basu-directed Gangster has run into an Arabian nightmare and the composers are now facing the music. Quite literally.

The Prince of the Saudi Arabian royal family has levelled plagiarism charges against the composer of the song and has claimed that it was his company GuiTaRa that has produced the original Arabic song Ya Ghali.

Infact, Ya Ghali is one of the most popular songs of the Kuwait-based band.

The Prince is now planning to sue composer Pritam over the issue and is also planning legal recourse against the music label.

Pritam has denied having any knowledge about the original song and says he was inspired by a Muslim folk song. However, singer Zubeen Garg says he knew about the original song but adds that it was not a complete rip-off.

Zubeen says that sometimes it’s the producer’s insistence for a particular and the composer has no say in it.

What's your reaction?
