HYDERABAD: A day after receiving a complaint from minister for textiles P Shanker Rao’s personal security officer that some anonymous caller had threatened to kill the minister and blow up his house, the Central Crime Station police arrested a saw mill worker on Thursday.The accused, Gopi Dhana Mohan Rao, 49, of Jammikunta in Medak district, was working as a cutter at a local saw mill.“Around 9.30 pm on Wednesday, an intoxicated Mohan Rao made a phone call to the minister’s mobile which was answered by the minister’s PSO Manya Naik.Mohan Rao began hurling abuses and threatened to kill the minister and his family members. He even threatened to blast the minister’s residence, Police said.CCS police registered a case on Wednesday and took up the investigation. The police then tracked down the accused using his mobile number to his residence and arrested him on Thursday.CCS police said Mohan Rao secured the minister’s mobile phone number from a newspaper advertisement pertaining to the recent Bonalu festival held in his locality. The advertisement also carried the phone numbers of Sarvey Satyanarayana and Jayasudha.The accused also called up Jayasudha and asked her to provide employment to his daughter.The accused told the police that he did not like the textile minister’s politics and was under the influence of alcohol when he made his threats.He accused was produced in the local court and remanded in judicial custody.
