Jaipur: Yoga guru Ramdev on Monday said the the UPA government at the Centre would face a boycott by the people if it did not take effective steps to curb corruption and bring transparency in economy.
Economic transparency was needed for the growth and development of the country, he said. "The country needs an honest Prime Minister and 400 honest Members of Parliament," the yoga guru said. "If this is done, the issue of corruption will be resolved and the country will prosper," he said.
Asked what was the alternative to the Congress-led government at the Centre, Ramdev said "honest PM and MPs are the only alternative."
On the Presidential election, he said "the environment created in the run-up to the poll is quite unfortunate." On his proposed agitation in Delhi on August nine, he said "we will force the government to take effective measures to curb corruption and boost economy."
