New Delhi: Even though the Uttar Pradesh government has been claiming that law and order situation in the state has improved, the truth remains that crimes against women have been on the upswing. The government has failed to ensure a safe environment for women and the girl students in the state.
In the latest incidence of crime against women a Samajwadi Party leader's son has allegedly molested a girl in Gonda. The girl's family has threatened to commit suicide if prompt action is not taken against the accused.
The victim has alleged that SP leader Devendra Pratap Singh son's Hanumant Singh and his friends molested her when she was returning home after her BA examination. She also alleged that leader and his son have threatened to kill her along with her family.
According to the girl when she was returning home after her BA exam, Hanumant Singh, who is the son of Samajwadi Party leader Devendra Pratap Singh, and his friends sexually harassed her. The police have filed a case against the accused after the girl lodged a complaint.
She has also alleged that the leader and his son are now threatening to kill her entire family. While the police have filed case but the victim alleges that no action has been taken against the accused.
She has demanded immediate and strong action against the accused otherwise she has threatened to immolate herself along with her family. She wants the police to act before she sit for her second BA paper.
