VISAKHAPATNAM: To counter Sakala Janula Samme of the Telangana Political Joint Action Committee demanding a separate T state, Samaikyandhra Student JAC has decided to launch an agitation in Seemandhra from October 18 for the cause of United Andhra Pradesh.Talking to newsmen here on Sunday, Samaikyandhra Student JAC convener Adari Kishore Kumar said they would hold a round table meeting either in Visakhapatnam or Vijayawada on October 25 to discuss the future course of action to ensure that Andhra Pradesh remains united. As part of the agitational programme of the student JAC, dharnas, rallies and other protests will be organised in Seemandhra from October 18 to 31. Kishore Kumar demanded that the Congress-led UPA Government at the Centre announce by November 1 that it would not bifurcate the state yielding to the pressure from TRS, Telangana Congress and TDP leaders.Otherwise, the JAC would intensify its agitation demanding Samaikyandhra.Bifurcation of the state is not an effective solution to rectify regional imbalances, he said.Anakapalle MLA Ganta Srinivas Rao said people of the state were facing severe hardships due to Sakala Janula Samme in Telangana region for the past one month.Normal life has been thrown out of gear. Development of the state has also been badly hit. It has also caused a revenue loss of thousands of crores rupees to the state exchequer.  People of Telangana are not wholeheartedly supporting Sakala Janula Samme, he said. Former minister and president of Krishna District Telugu Writers' Association Mandali Buddha Prasad said the state should remain united to achieve rapid economic development. It is a misconception among some people that smaller states will achieve rapid development. In the era of globalisation, effective governance can be provided even if the state is big if there is a strong government, he said. The former Congress minister hoped that the Union government would not bifurcate the state yielding to the pressure from T activists.
