KOZHIKODE: In a major breakthrough in the investigation into the Rs 400-crore Tycoon money chain fraud case, the special investigation team nabbed Kripakaran, a director of Tycoon Empire International, from Payyoli near here on Wednesday.The arrest was quite dramatic. From the visitor’s register of Vadakara jail, police came to know one Kripakaran visited Sadasivam and Kamalakannan, where the duo was remanded to judicial custody.Suspecting that the visitor must be the director of Tycoon International, a vigilant investigation team rushed to the spot and arrested Kripakaran from Payyoli Magistrate Court premises on Wednesday morning. Kripakaran, 28, hailing from Namakkal is a director right from the initial days of the company in 2009.“A Computer Engineer by profession, Kripakaran has close association with Sadasivam and Kamalakannan and aware about the money transactions of the Tycoon Company,” said Crime Detachment DySP P Sadanandan. Police got the name Kripakaran from the visitor’s register of the jail. As Tycoon Company’s director Kripakaran is included in the case, the special investigation team conducted a probe in this direction and arrested him from the Payyoli court premises, added DySP P Sadanandan.Kripakaran was produced before Payyoli Magistrate Court and remanded in police custody. Sadasivam and Kamalakannan of Namakkal, Tamil Nadu, the main accused in the Tycoon cheating case, were arrested in Chennai on October 15. Nine of the accused in the controversial case had been held earlier.
