Shraddha Kapoor has been the name on everyone’s lips ever since her film Stree 2 hit the theatres on Independence Day. The Amar Kaushik-directed supernatural horror comedy has broken several box-office records and grossed Rs 700 crore globally in three weeks. The actress, who is basking in the success of her latest release, took to her Instagram account to wish her “pasandida purush” on his birthday, and it’s none other than her father, Shakti Kapoor.
On September 3, Shraddha posted a selfie with her father to commemorate his 72nd birthday. Along with the picture, the actress also expressed her love for her father, saying that she was able to achieve everything just because of her loving papa’s blessing. Sharing the picture, she wrote, “Aaj mere pasandida purush ka janam din hai! Happy Birthday Baapu @shaktikapoor Woh stree hai, woh kuch bhi kar sakti hai kyunki uske papa ka haath har dum uske sar par hai. Love you Baapu.”

Soon after Shraddha’s post, several other Bollywood celebrities, including her good friend and co-star Varun Dhawan, also commented on it. The latter wrote, “Shaksssss looking fresh.” Meanwhile, Karisma Kapoor penned, “Happy birthday Shakti ji.”
Shakti Kapoor made his acting debut in 1977 and is mostly celebrated for his comic roles. However, the actor’s portrayal of ‘Crime Master Gogo’ in the cult classic Andaz Apna Apna solidified his status in the industry as one of the versatile actors. He was last seen in Ranbir Kapoor and Anil Kapoor starrer Animal.
Stree 2’s massive success, which also stars Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee and Aparshakti Khurana, made Shakti’s daughter, Shraddha, the second most followed Indian on Instagram, with 92.7 million followers. She has surpassed the fan-following of Priyanka Chopra, who is in third position with 91.9 million followers. Shraddha is second to former India captain Virat Kohli, who has a massive fanbase of 270 million on IG.
On the professional front, Shraddha had a cameo in Bhediya and played the female lead in Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar prior to Stree 2. Meanwhile, the actress’ personal life has been in the spotlight as well. She was rumoured to be dating producer-writer Rahul Mody. However, later, reports suggested that she parted ways just months after confirming her relationship.
