Two women fatally knocked down by car

MARADU: Two women were fatally knocked down by a speeding car in front of Nair’s Hospital, near Kannadikadu here, on Thursday. The victims are Sathi, 58, of Adichithundiyil house in Maradu, and Thressya, 60, of Valavanthara House.They were returning after attending a ritual related to the death of their neighbour. Sathi and Thressya, along with their neighbour Soumini, were knocked down by a car coming from Kundanoor.Soumini escaped with minor injuries, whereas Sathi and Thressya died on the spot. Though they were rushed to a nearby hospital, the two could not be saved.The car sped from the scene immediately.Later, the car was found abandoned near Vyttila Junction.“We could identify the owner of the car. But we need to get the whereabouts of the people who were travelling in the car at the time of accident,  the police said.
