Two Platform Supply Vessels launched

The Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) has launched two Platform Supply Vessels (PSVs) built for European clients. Both vessels are of PSV 05L CD type, designed by STX OSV AS, Norway, and are classed under the regulations of Det Norske Veritas (DNV). The 82.2 x 17.00 x 7.60 metre vessels are high end diesel electric PSVs equipped with four 1,200 KW diesel generator sets and two 1,600 KW input power azimuth thrusters.

They have also been been assigned ‘Clean Design’ notation by DNV, signifying the highest levels of environmental compliance, and also installed with a ballast water treatment plant to prevent risks to the environment arising from the transfer of harmful aquatic organisms and pathogens.

The vessels also have fire-fighting facilities to meet Fire Fighter-1 Notation. They can also act as an oil recovery vessel in the event of an oil spill.
