Two killed in lightning in Andhra Pradesh

ADILABAD: Two farmers were killed and

three others, including two women, sustained injuries when

lightning struck them while they were working in a field in

Bhimini mandal here today, police said.The incident occurred at around 12.30 pm when a group of

farmers and workers were engaged in farm work in a paddy field

near Tekkalapalli village of Bhimini mandal, they said adding

it was raining heavily in the region when lightning struck

them resulting in the instantaneous death of two farmers.The deceased were identified as I Bhimaiah and

Beeraiah, (both aged between 30-40). The injured were shifted

to a nearby hospital, a police officer told PTI. Further

investigations were on.
