TTD to decide on gifts from tainted donors

HYDERABAD: The TTD Trust Board will take a decision on whether to accept gifts from devotes facing corruption and criminal cases in courts, board member and MLA R Surya Prakasa Rao has said.He told reporters here on Thursday that former Karnataka minister Gali Janardhan Reddy, who was arrested by the CBI, donated a Vajra Kireetam (diamond-studded crown) worth Rs 30 crore to the temple.But the Lord’s idol was not adorned with it as the sizes did not match.There were several other crowns not used by the TTD on account of the mismatch of the sizes, he explained.
