Requesting to sanction more loans to the poor, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar on Thursday requested United Bank of India (UBI) authorities to increase its credit deposit ratio from 39 per cent to 50 per cent in this financial year itself.
Sarkar said this while inaugurating ten new branches of the bank switching an electronic device at the Nazrul Kalakshetra here while assuring all help to bankers in smooth operations in the state.
Chairperson and Managing Director of the UBI Archana Bhargav, who was present on the occasion said that the bank has plans to open 36 more branches in the state in near future.
Among others state Chief Secretary SK Panda was also present in the occasion.
