MADURAI: Two persons were killed and one was critically injured in an accident involving two lorries here on Wednesday.According to police sources, Anthony (35), of Muniyandikoil Street in Aruldhasapuram, Govindhammal (50), wife of Dhandapani, of Murakara Lane from Tiruchy, and her son Balamurugan, were walking alongside the road when the incident took place. A water lorry was supplying drinking water to the residents of that locality. Meanwhile, another lorry driver lost control of the vehicle and rammed into the water lorry and went further to mow down the three pedestrians.All three were critically injured and were rushed to the Government Rajaji Hospital. Anthony and Govindhammal died at the hospital while Balamurugan sustained a fracture in his leg and was undergoing treatment. Police have registered a case and have arrested lorry driver Ananthakumar, who hails from Pattinamkathan in Ramanathapuram district.
