Illavarasan was found dead along a railway track on July 4, a day after the girl said she would never go back to him.

Chennai: The panel constituted by the Tamil Nadu government will hear the case probing into circumstances that led to the death of 20-year old Dalit youth E Ilavarasan in Dharmapuri. Ilavarasan was found dead near a railway track on July 4 this year.

Ilavarasan, whose marriage to Divya triggered anti-Dalit violence in three villages of Dharmapuri district in November 2012, was found dead along a railway track here on July 4, a day after the girl said she would never go back to him and instead stay with her mother.

His family had alleged that he was murdered by the upper caste, dominant Vanniyar community to which his wife belongs.

Two post mortem's were conducted on boy's body as the autopsy performed on June 30 on Ilavarasan had stated that the boy had died of a "serious head injury" even as the probe was transferred from government railway police to local police.
