But one simple herbal drink Dodapatre Kashaya is quite popular in Karnataka. It is also known as Indian Borage, aka Mexican Mint or Carom (ajwain) Plant’s leaves. It is a fact that carom seeds are quite beneficial for health. Now imagine the effectiveness of its leaves.
Ajwain leaves herbal tea can be a great replacement for milk-based tea or coffee plus it takes hardly a few minutes to make and can be consumed throughout the day by reheating it again and again. If you have a cold, Dodapatre Kashaya can be the best drink. So, here is a simple recipe to make this.
Recipe-
Add enough Ajwain leaves to boiling water.
Add a teaspoon of turmeric powder along with pieces of freshly cut ginger.
To this add four basil (Tulsi) leaves.
Let this boil for about five minutes. Then add a few drops of lemon, and a few drops of honey and your Dodapatre Kashaya is ready to be consumed.
Ajwain leaves are excellent remedies for coughs, colds and congestion. What makes it awesome is that people across all age groups can savour it.
