Under a major initiative to modernise police stations and enhance their service to the public, Jagdishpur Police Station in Uttar Pradesh’s Agra has undergone a remarkable transformation. Once lacking even basic facilities, this British-era heritage police station had been in a dilapidated state for decades, but now resembles a five-star hotel.
The police station was inaugurated by senior police officials, including the IG Range Police Commissioner, on Sunday evening. The initiative to refurbish this police station was led by Agra Police Commissioner J Ravinder Gaur. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Agra Police Commissioner, IG Range DP, all ACPs and other police personnel.
Following its renovation, Jagdishpur Police Station is now considered as one of the most beautiful police stations in the Taj City.
With the station’s revamp, police personnel now have new facilities, including a well-furnished guest room and a specially designed investigation lobby. The entrance of the station has been elegantly designed. The temple within the premises has also been renovated in modern style. Additionally, each police officer has been provided with their own separate chamber.
During the ceremony, IG Deepak Kumar said that Agra Commissioner J Ravindra Gaur played a significant role in transforming police stations of Agra along with ACP Loha Mandi Mayank Tiwari.
IG Deepak Kumar further stated that while the public’s perception of the police remains a challenge, efforts are contiguously being made to improve this. The objective is to create a welcoming environment for complainants, he said.
