Amid continuing protests for and against Telangana at government offices in Hyderabad, the city police on Tuesday warned of initiating stern action against "outsiders" participating the agitations.
"Outsiders (other than government employees), including political leaders, will not be allowed to participate in protests at government offices as it may lead to tension as pro and anti-Telangana supporters may clash," Hyderabad Police Commissioner Anurag Sharma told reporters in Hyderabad.
Employees from Seemandhra and Telangana almost came to blows during their protests at government offices including at Vidyut Soudha, Jala Soudha and other government offices over the past few days. "Democratically they (employees) can organise peaceful protests but we will not give permission for outsiders' participation which may hamper peaceful atmosphere. Stern action will be taken against those who will create law and order problem," the Hyderabad police chief said.
Referring to a query on APNGOs' proposed meeting and rally in Hyderabad scheduled for September 7, Sharma said a decision (on permission) in this regard will be taken depending on the circumstances.
Prohibitory orders are already in force in twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad with police banning public meetings, processions and gatherings on roads or public places.
