HYDERABAD: The Telugu Desam is determined to move a no-confidence motion against the Kiran Kumar Reddy-headed Congress government.Introducing the political resolution at the Mahanadu here on Sunday, TDP Politburo member Yanamala Ramakrishnudu said the opposition party would move a no-trust motion in the next session of the Assembly against the “inefficient government which is responsible for the woes of farmers”.At the same time, Ramakrishnudu dared YSR Congress president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to parade his MLAs before the governor. Ramakrishnudu ridiculed the YSR Congress’ ignorance of rules and the claim that it had only one MLA and was in position to move a no-trust motion against the government.“Even one MLA can give notice for no-trust motion. The speaker will give his consent for the motion if it is supported by 10 per cent of the members of the Assembly,” Ramakrishnudu, a former speaker, said while explaining that YS Vijayalakshmi could move the motion against the Kiran Reddy government.Addressing the party workers later, TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu said that the opposition could move a no-trust motion against the government only if the Assembly was in session. “But MLAs supporting the ruling party can go to the governor and say that they are withdrawing their support to the government, even if the Assembly session is not in progress. If pro-Jagan MLAs withdraw support to the government, the governor will ask the government to seek a trust vote.If Jagan has no strength to pull down the government, he should admit it and keep his mouth shut,” Naidu said. He, however, declared that the TDP would move a no-confidence motion against the government for the sake of farmers for whose sake he went on a fast for eight days. As there was no expected response from the government, the TDP decided to move the no-trust motion against the government on the same grounds. “If the opposition wins or loses the motion, it is certain that the TDP will win the hearts of farmers,’’ he said.
