Tax collection drive restarts today

KOCHI: The second phase of the Kochi Corporation’s ambitious tax collection drive will begin at the Vennala NSS Hall on Monday.According to officials, special counters will be set up at all zones under the corporation. By intensifying the tax collection, the corporation is targeting to garner a total of `100 crore in revenues before March 2012.The first phase of the drive, launched in August 2011, has helped the corporation  amass Rs 45 crore. The corporation had also revised the property-tax rates as per the directions of the Local Self Government Department.
