JAIPUR: The resignation of a senior inspector-in-charge has created ripples in the State Police Association. Jenapur police station IIC Sriharsha Mishra resigned a day after he was summoned by the SP to attend a personal hearing. Alleging foul play and harassment, the association has demanded immediate transfer of the SP.Reports said Mishra was reportedly not following orders of senior officers and also did not attend office regularly. There were many complaints against him following which the SP summoned him to ‘orderly room’ on Friday. The IIC turned up for the personal hearing and attended the proceedings. “I received a resignation letter from the IIC with no reason mentioned on it. I forwarded it to the Director-General of Police (DGP) on Saturday,” said SP Deepak Kumar. He denied charges of misbehaviour or any sort of harassment to the IIC. “The rule permits for a personal hearing with the nature of complaints against him,” he said. The IIC could not be contacted. Meanwhile, the association, in an urgent meeting at Cuttack, constituted a 10-member committee to inquire into the matter.
