BANGALORE: Home Minister R Ashok on Monday confirmed that the Sri Ram Sena activists were involved in hoisting of the Pakistani flag at Sindhagi recently. Ashok told reporters here on Monday that the culprits would be dealt with seriously so that such incidents are not repeated. The police have gathered enough evidence against the activists and arrested six persons, he added. To a question, the Home Minister said that the government was not considering banning of the outfit.He dismissed the allegations of Opposition parties that communal clashes are on the rise since the BJP government took over as false and baseless. Ashok said: “In fact, the communal clashes have come down drastically in the last three years. Even minority communities are happy with our efforts.” The state government is also planning to set-up commando training units at Hubli, Belgaum and Gulbarga, he added.
