BHUBANESWAR: The Special Relief Commissioner’s office on Monday asked the common man to send their complaints on repair and restoration works carried out after last year’s floods.  The SRC has constituted five State-level squads comprising engineers of the rank of Chief Engineer and Superintending Engineer to inspect the flood repair and restoration works so that approved quality standards are not compromised. Similarly, district-level squads have also been formed by collectors of the flood-affected districts to check the restoration works. SRC PK Mohapatra, on Monday, convened a meeting of the members of the State-level squads. Though the squads are reported to have found that quality has not been maintained in some areas, no major problems have been encountered yet. The State-level squads have conducted inspection of the restoration works in seven affected districts and submitted their reports to the SRC as well as the executing agencies and collectors. The SRC asked each team to conduct at least four visits during March to keep a tab on the works. Members of the public have also been advised to send in their complaints to the squad members or to collector and SRC if they come across any deviation in quality standard or irregularities.
