CHENNAI: A special drive will be conducted for the ongoing summary revision of electoral rolls on October 30 and November 6 across the State, except in Sivaganga and Ramanathapuram districts. The drive will be conducted in designated locations, generally polling stations. In Sivaganga and Ramanathapruam districts, the drive will be held on November 5 and 6.At a meeting convened by Chief Electoral Officer Praveen Kumar here on Friday, the representatives of political parties assured all cooperation for the special drive. The representatives, however, requested to enrol students, who have completed 18 years, for the drive and give more publicity for the revision programme. Enrolment of homeless persons, imparting training to the officials involved in the Special Summary Revision, 2012, special campaign for overseas voters and more number of centres in addition to designated locations for receiving forms, were some of the other suggestions made by the political parties. The qualifying date for the current summary revision is January 1, 2012 and draft rolls were published on October 24. The rolls have also been posted on the website http://elections.tn.gov.in
