New Delhi: Delhi Government on Friday held a meeting with the traders and assured them of formation of a Traders Advisory Board to look into their trade-related problems.

The meeting came as a bid to clarify to traders the Supreme Court order giving a conditional reprieve to 25,000 traders from sealing.

At a two-hour meeting, around 200 traders interacted with the Chief Minister and Congress MLAs where they voiced their grievances against the sealing drive and alleged malafide sealing by the MCD in several areas.

While traders sought a complete halt to sealing, the Chief Minister tried to convince them of the relief through the Supreme Court in case they implemented the court order in toto.

The apex court had on Wednesday said that if the 25,000 traders, who have given affidavit that they would stop misuse of their residential premises for commercial purposes, gave a fresh application that they have indeed done so, it would consider giving them reprieve from sealing.
