Panaji: The judicial custody of Tehelka's founder-editor Tarun Tejpal has been extended by 10 days. Further decision on his custody will be taken when it will come up for review on January 14.
The court on Saturday also set the date for his bail hearing on the January 7. The order was given by a local court in Goa after hearing his bail plea and arguments on further custody.
Tejpal is lodged in Sada sub jail near Vasco town in Goa for allegedly sexually assaulting a younger colleague at Tehelka's 'Think' Fest.
Tejpal who was arrested by Goa police on November 30 has been booked under IPC sections including 354-A (sexual harassment, physical contact, advances involving unwelcome and explicit sexual overtures, or any other unwelcome physical, verbal or non-verbal conduct of sexual nature), 376 (rape) and 376 (2)(k) (rape by a person of a woman in his custody taking advantage of his official position).
