New Delhi: A sex racket was busted in Delhi after two Uzbek women who were held hostage for five months in a house and were repeatedly sexually abused by customers, escaped, police on Tuesday said. A woman pimp has been arrested.
The two women from Uzbekistan managed to flee from the clutches of the sex racket on Sunday and reached Safdarjung Hospital, where they sought help of hospital authorities to approach police.
"The victims had come to India on tourist visas. They met a woman pimp, Dilsukh, in Uttar Pradesh's Agra last year. Dilsukh invited them to Delhi and let them stay in her house in south Delhi's Lajpat Nagar," said a police officer.
Dilsukh is also from Uzbekistan. She forced the victims into prostitution, added the officer.
The victims told police that they were sexually exploited several times at the house, from where Dilsukh has been running a sex racket for several years. She also sent women to hotels in the city.
"Dilsukh was arrested on Monday," said the officer.
One of the victims is two months pregnant.
"We are facing difficulties during investigation as the women cannot speak Hindi or English. They somehow managed to tell us that they were also beaten up several times when they tried to resist," said the officer.
