BANGALORE: Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) Commissioner M K Shankarlinge Gowda on Wednesday, appointed a senior official to head a committee, to inspect files related to Transfer of Development Rights (TDR) scam.The recent investigation by the Technical Vigilance Committee Cell (TVCC) revealed that owners of properties abutting the roads which were identified for widening, have overstated their loss.Many of them had falsely claimed TDR. Also, some miscreants barged into TVCC chief’s chamber and threatened to burn files pertaining to the scam. Replying to the query raised by Nandini Layout councillor Nagaraj, who demanded for a detailed inquiry, commissioner said he would ask the additional commissioner (land acquisition) Chikkamuniyappa to go through the files related to TDR scam.“Officials who are inspecting the spot have to take pictures of the spot and submit the same while submitting a report.Chikkamuniyappa too will do the same,” he said, adding the committee will submit the report by August 2012.Further, Gowda said in Rajarajeshwarinagar, some have claimed TDR for a developed road.“I have taken action against the officials who have signed in this regard.I have relieved assistant commissioner and suspended two executive engineers.They will be under suspension till the inquiry is completed,” he said.
