Self-employment loans to care-givers planned

PALAKKAD: The government is considering providing self-employment loans for the care-givers of sick patients who are entitled to monthly benefits under the ‘Aswasa Kiranam’ scheme, being implemented by the Social Security Mission, said Panchayat and Social Welfare Minister M K Muneer.The minister was speaking after disbursing the first instalment of funds under the scheme, and formally declaring Palakkad as the first district to achieve total enrolment of the care-givers under the ‘Aswasa Kiranam scheme at a function held at the Moyan LP School here on Thursday. Under the scheme, the care-givers will be provided a monthly sum of Rs 400.
