It reduces the purchase of fresh sand and also brings down soil pollution, said Bhandare. BFC has many other facilities like quality testing laboratory, common tool room facility, common effluent treatment plant and more. The cluster has been providing training to several foundry men and is instrumental in ensuring that Belgaum has a prominent position when it to foundries. It aims to make Belgaum foundry industry a global sourcing hub for casting and machined components in the coming years, Bhandare explained.
