The trial in the hit-and-run case involving actor Salman Khan would resume in a local court on May 11.

Mumbai: The trial in the hit-and-run case involving actor Salman Khan would resume in a local court on May 11 with prosecution all set to examine a key witness.

Salman had rammed his car into a bakery in suburban Bandra killing one person and injuring four others who were sleeping on a pavement on September 28, 2002.

The prosecution is to examine one of the persons who was injured in the mishap. He was sleeping outside the bakery when the actor met with the accident, according to the prosecution.

Of the 60 witnesses, three have already deposed before the court. Among them were Ravindra Patil and Ramasray Pandey, who had witnessed the incident.

Patil was Salman's bodyguard and had accompanied him when the actor met with an accident while Pandey was sleeping in a shop adjacent to the accident site.

The third witness was a panch witness who had prepared a panchnama at the site of the accident.

All the witnesses have supported the prosecution. Salman would not appear before the court on May 11 as he has been exempted from appearing in the trial.
