Rajnath flays Govt for Muslim reservation
Rajnath Singh says the Govt was violating the basic tenets of Constitution by mulling religion-based reservation.

Kotdwar (Dehradun): Accusing the Centre of following a Muslim "appeasement" policy, BJP chief Rajnath Singh has said the Government was violating the basic tenets of Constitution by mulling religion-based reservation.

"The Central Government constituted the Sachchar committee for counting the number of Muslims in the forces, judiciary and other departments," he said.

"And now, against the basic tenets of Constitution, a move is being taken to give reservation on the basis of religion," he said at a rally on the concluding day of the Garhwal phase of Parivartan Yatra.

Commenting on the Government's stand on Mohammad Afzal, held guilty in the Parliament attack case, Singh said that by siding with Afzal, the Government has "hanged the Supreme Court."

Party leader and state in-charge, Ravi Shankar Prasad said BJP would fulfill people's expectations if voted back to power in Uttaranchal.
