BANGALORE: Prices of flowers have reached sky high and vegetables have marginally increased in the markets, this festive season. The price of marigold shot up from Rs. 10 to Rs. 25 and that of loose flowers to Rs. 180 from Rs. 80 per kilo. Lotus flowers that normally costs Rs. 5 to 10, was sold at Rs. 20. Flowers were sold at twice their normal price at markets. Prices of flowers came down marginally by Wednesday evening in the city . The prices of vegetables also marginally increased. The price of carrots that were sold at Rs. 15 to 20 per Kg shot up to Rs. 30, that of tomatoes shot up to Rs. 10 from Rs. 5, beans, which used to cost Rs. 20, was sold at Rs. 30 per kg, the price of radish went up to Rs. 20 and that of Brinjal went up to Rs. 15. According to the traders, the prices of vegetables are likely to subside when the farmers start coming back to the markets with their produce after the festival after couple of days.
