New Delhi: The latest in the Britney Spears drama unfolded as the troubled singer was admitted to a Los Angeles hospital amidst fears that Britney might attempt committing suicide.
The singer began the week with a public meltdown outside her LA home. Following this her manager confirmed that Britney was seeking psychiatric help. Speculation is high that Britney's strange behaviour is the fallout of the custody battle she is fighting for her two sons.
Earlier last week, American celebrity doctor Dr Drew Pinksy had suggested that Spears’ family and friends can get the deranged pop star proper and uncomplicated help by calling the cops to arrest her.
According to Dr Pinksy, having a person committed isn’t as easy as it sounds.
He said that California law does not allow for Britney to be involuntarily committed for psychiatric treatment by her family.
Hence, the only way out to get the Toxic hitmaker appropriate treatment is to arrest her, he said.
"She needs to be arrested and have the judicial system order her into a mandated treatment program," the New York Post quoted him, as saying.
